I stumbled into acting and singing by accident reading in a local newspaper that an amateur dramatic society needed men for a production of South Pacific. Some lads that worked for me were members of another society said I should audition, which I did and it turns out I can sing and was signed up for chorus, as were they. The director said "it was wonderful to have some proper men", as he put it. {We were all builders} instead of girls and boys dressed up as men.
I was hooked!
Next production was Barnham at the Marlowe, Canterbury, the same director took the whole male chorus and we learnt to juggle. This all took place 15years ago in 1995 since then things have moved on.
Principle parts, singing solos, writing songs, performing cabaret, London musical and plays. My most recent was a professional production of Flowers for Seeta at the MCR in Islington in which I played the lead.
At the moment I am doing a self contained solo act in pubs, clubs and restaurants and rehearsing for the summer variety show in July at the Playhouse Whitstable.
